Initiative of amateur racers who want to scholarship a student with academic and sports excellence, to study his undergraduate at the University of the Andes.

This is an initiative from running enthusiasts who want to give a student who excels in both academia and sports a scholarship to complete their undergraduate degree in the Universidad de los Andes.

This scholarship was first awarded in 2012 when three Uniandes alumni friends ran their first marathon for which they managed to raise nearly eight million pesos. They donated this money to the Quiero Estudiar program.

In the spirit of marathon running, in 2013 they increased their goal and set themselves the task of creating the university´s first sports scholarship. To do so, they invited other runner friends to join the cause.

And then the Senek race was born: this event raised the first contributions for the Quiero Estudiar - Sports scholarship.

“The scholarship is an incentive and recognition for young people who stand out for their academic performance and their dedication to sports. Perhaps the most important part is that the scholarship is a demonstration of many people´s solidarity who value the effort made by those who want to become professionals but at the same time have a passion for sport”, - Quiero Estudiar – Sports founding team.
