What tax benefits will I receive by making a donation?

As the grantee, and in compliance with tax laws, the Universidad de los Andes authorizes donation certificates (regardless of the amount) that are undersigned by the tax inspector. These allow the donators, either natural or legal persons, to subtract the value of the donation made from their income tax during the same taxable year in which it was made.

The university also receives donations in kind, including equipment for laboratories and sports equipment, computers, books, and works of art. These contributions allow our students to have access to essential tools that help with learning, and they also contribute to teaching and researching. Who will the donated funds go to?

When donations are made, the donor will choose the option for which they wish their funds to be used. Some of the options available include undergraduate programs, financial assistance to undergraduate students, assisting postgraduate programs and students, research projects, teacher development, etc. Thanks to its administrative efficiency, the university routes these funds in the requested direction and guarantees donor wishes.

What is the minimum value for which I can make a donation?

You can make a donation from $10.000 Colombian pesos.

Is the online payments system safe?

Yes, the university´s online payments system uses one of the safest platforms in the financial system. Also, the online donations allow the Universidad de los Andes to receive funds quickly and efficiently.

Can I make anonymous donations?

Yes, when you are about to make your donation, please indicate that you would like to make an anonymous donation.

How and when can I cancel my pledge to make a donation?

You can cancel your pledge whenever you decide to do so. You only need to send an email to donaciones@uniandes.edu.co or call the Office of Philanthropy on 332 4170 or 339 4949 extension 2032
